A shocking murder case has emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district, where a 70-year-old man was allegedly run over by his neighbour before being stabbed multiple times during an early morning walk.
According to police, the victim, identified as Siyaram Srivastava, was attacked by his neighbour, Mohd Armaan. Investigators allege that Armaan first struck the elderly man with a car and then stabbed him repeatedly, leading to his death.
During questioning, the accused reportedly claimed that he had been hearing voices and believed a "jinn" was demanding blood. Police said he told investigators that he committed the crime under the influence of those alleged beliefs. Authorities have not independently verified these claims, and they form part of the ongoing investigation.
Police further allege that Armaan's father, Imtiyaz, helped conceal evidence after the incident. Investigators relied on CCTV footage to trace the accused, and both the suspected murder weapon and the vehicle allegedly used in the crime have since been recovered.
Both Mohd Armaan and Imtiyaz have been arrested, and the case remains under investigation as police continue to determine the full sequence of events and the motive behind the killing.
