A serious case involving two minor girls from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, has come to light after they were allegedly befriended on social media by a Bengaluru-based man who reportedly used Hindu names and identities to establish contact with them.
According to the allegations, the man identified as Aquib Ansari, along with his associates, travelled to Jodhpur and allegedly took the two girls with them. The group reportedly boarded a train and left the area before members of the Bajrang Dal received information about their whereabouts.
Train Stopped During Search
Following the information, Bajrang Dal members reportedly alerted authorities and searched for the group. The train was stopped in Ahmedabad, where the search reportedly led to one of the men and one of the girls being located.
According to reports, two other men allegedly managed to escape with the second girl. Another suspect was subsequently apprehended, while efforts to locate the remaining man and the girl were reportedly continuing.
Serious Allegations Made During Questioning
During questioning, Aquib Ansari and another accused, identified as Syed Ibrahim, allegedly made serious claims about the trafficking of Hindu girls. One of the accused is reported to have claimed that girls were being sold for between ₹8 lakh and ₹10 lakh and alleged that some were taken to Bangladesh.
Reports further claim that the accused said he had previously been involved in similar incidents involving five Hindu girls.
These claims are extremely serious, but they remain allegations and must be independently verified by investigators. Police will need to establish whether any trafficking network exists, identify other individuals who may be involved, and determine the whereabouts and safety of the missing girl.
Investigation Continues
The priority for authorities is now to safely locate the remaining girl and determine exactly what happened. Investigators are also expected to examine the accused persons' social-media accounts, communications, travel records and financial transactions as part of the probe.
The case has raised concerns about minors being targeted through social-media platforms and the potential dangers of strangers using false identities to gain their trust.
Further details are expected as the investigation progresses. Any claims regarding trafficking, the alleged sale of girls or the involvement of additional people should be treated as allegations until established through police investigation and court proceedings.
