Surendranagar Club 71 Gym Case: Manager Arrested Over Blackmailing of Hindu Women

A serious case involving allegations of privacy violations, blackmail and coercion has emerged from Surendranagar, Gujarat. Police have arrested Amin Multani, the manager of Club 71 gym, after a woman approached senior police officials with allegations concerning women who visited the facility.

According to reports, the complaint alleged that private photographs and videos of women were being obtained and potentially used to blackmail or pressure them. Police subsequently launched an investigation and conducted searches at the gym's locations.

Police Raid Club 71

Club 71 reportedly operates at locations on Dudhrej Road and 80 Feet Road in Surendranagar.

According to India Today, police personnel reportedly visited the gym while posing as prospective customers before carrying out a raid. During the search, investigators seized a pen drive, blank cheques, an account diary and other material. Multani and another gym worker were arrested, while other reports have described four people being detained or arrested during the wider action.

The gym's premises have also been sealed as the investigation continues.

Digital Evidence Sent for Forensic Examination

Police are examining the digital material recovered during the investigation.

According to police statements reported by India Today, the pen drive contained photographs and videos of women, including purported intimate material. The files have been sent to a forensic laboratory to determine their authenticity and whether any material may have been manipulated or generated using artificial intelligence.

Police are also examining WhatsApp chats, CCTV footage and other material reportedly recovered from the premises.

Importantly, police have said that no hidden camera was found inside the gym or its changing room during the search. Therefore, claims that hidden cameras definitely recorded women should remain described as allegations until the forensic and police investigation establishes how the material was obtained.

How Many Hindu Women Were Affected?

Some social-media posts have claimed that more than 100 Hindu women were recorded and blackmailed.

However, the reliable reports reviewed so far do not establish that more than 100 Hindu women were victims. Police are still examining the recovered material to determine how many people may have been affected and whether the allegations can be substantiated.

The investigation is also looking into whether other people were involved.

Investigation Underway

Police are now examining the seized electronic material, CCTV footage, communications and financial documents. The recovery of blank cheques and an account diary has also prompted investigators to examine whether there were other potentially illegal financial activities connected with the accused.

At this stage, the allegations against the accused should not be treated as proven facts. The forensic examination and further investigation will be important in establishing where the photographs and videos came from, whether they were obtained without consent, whether they were used for blackmail, and whether anyone else was involved.

The case has nevertheless raised serious concerns about privacy and safety in places such as gyms, where customers reasonably expect their personal privacy to be protected.
