Hyderabad, Telangana: The family of a 15-year-old girl has alleged that their daughter was abducted, converted to Islam, and married without their consent, prompting calls for a thorough police investigation.
According to the family's complaint, the girl, a Class 9 student identified as Pooja, went missing before they learned that she had allegedly undergone a religious conversion and was now using the name "Dua Fatima." The family claims the events occurred without their knowledge or consent.
Relatives have further alleged that the minor was married to a man identified in their complaint and have questioned why, according to them, no appropriate criminal case has yet been registered. These allegations have not been independently verified.
The family has urged the authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation, determine the girl's welfare, verify the circumstances surrounding the alleged conversion and marriage, and take legal action if any offences are found to have occurred.
At the time of publication, the allegations remain the subject of a complaint. Police have not publicly confirmed the family's claims, and no court has made findings regarding the allegations. The matter remains under investigation.
