Sangareddy, Telangana: A man identified by police as Mohammed Shaik Javed has been arrested in Sangareddy after allegedly evading authorities for more than a year while working at a local dargah.
According to Hyderabad Police, Javed was wanted in connection with a murder case and had been absconding since a court issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against him. Investigators allege that he remained on the run by concealing his identity and presenting himself as a religious caretaker, commonly referred to as a Peer Baba or Maulvi, at a local dargah.
Police said they tracked down the suspect during a targeted operation in Sangareddy and took him into custody without incident. During the arrest, officers reportedly recovered 115 grams of ganja from his possession, leading to additional legal proceedings under the applicable provisions of law.
Authorities stated that the accused will now face legal action in connection with both the pending murder case and the alleged narcotics recovery. Further investigation is underway to determine whether he received assistance while evading arrest or if any additional offences were committed during the period he was absconding.
The arrest has drawn attention because of the manner in which investigators allege the accused concealed his identity while avoiding law enforcement. Police have urged anyone with information related to fugitives or wanted offenders to cooperate with authorities and report relevant information.
At the time of publication, the allegations against the accused are based on the police investigation. The matter will proceed through the judicial process, and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
