A shocking case from Uttar Pradesh has drawn widespread attention after a child's body was recovered from a drain in Meerut, leading to the arrest of the child's mother and a man alleged to have been in a relationship with her.
According to police, the woman is a resident of Daulatpur Gangoh village in Saharanpur district. Investigators allege that she had developed a relationship with a man identified as Vishaal after the two became acquainted through Instagram.
As per the allegations being investigated, the woman would occasionally visit Vishaal along with her children. Police further allege that Vishaal was unwilling to accept responsibility for the children, and the relationship reportedly became strained over the issue.
Investigators claim that the woman and Vishaal subsequently conspired to dispose of one of the children by throwing the child into a drain in Meerut. Several days later, the child's body was recovered, after which police launched an investigation that ultimately led to the arrests.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the child's death, including the motive and the sequence of events. The accused remain entitled to due process, and the allegations will be tested in court.
