In a major breakthrough, Noida Police have uncovered an alleged e-commerce fraud racket that is accused of cheating online shopping companies of more than ₹1 crore through a well-planned parcel swapping scheme.
According to police, the gang was led by Wahid Khan and included four delivery personnel who allegedly exploited their positions while handling high-value online orders. Investigators claim the accused collected expensive parcels from e-commerce warehouses but did not deliver the original products to customers.
Instead, police allege that the gang carefully opened the packages, removed the costly items, and replaced them with bricks, stones, or old household objects before delivering the tampered parcels. The original products were then allegedly sold through illegal channels for financial gain.
Following complaints from affected e-commerce companies and customers, police launched an investigation that reportedly exposed the operation. During raids, officers recovered stolen goods worth approximately ₹75 lakh, which are believed to be linked to the fraud.
Police officials stated that the alleged scam caused losses exceeding ₹1 crore to several e-commerce firms. The recovered items have been seized as evidence, and further investigations are underway to determine whether additional people were involved and to trace the remaining stolen goods.
Authorities are continuing the investigation, and the accused remain entitled to due process while the allegations are examined in court. The case has once again highlighted the importance of strengthening security measures in the e-commerce delivery chain to prevent parcel tampering and protect consumers as well as online retailers.
